A Night of Science: Discussing Einstein Telescope and Gravitational Waves

We are proud to have co-hosted our second reception event with Flanders House and the Belgian Embassy in the UK, continuing our series that connects Belgian academics working in the UK.

At this event, we introduced Belgian researchers working on the Einstein Telescope and gravitational wave research, presenting the potential bid for the border area of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany to host this groundbreaking instrument.

We were delighted to welcome cosmologist Thomas Hertog, author of "On the Origin of Time," and Hans Plets from Research Foundation Flanders - FWO, who introduced the fascinating world of gravitational wave research. The Einstein Telescope will have a significant impact on scientific, economic, and philosophical levels. It will not only lead to phenomenal new scientific insights and applications but also transform our understanding of our place in the universe.
